Life's Other Adventures

Crash

I am no grammar snob, but it seems to me that there are very few words that when written in the same tense, without any alterations, can function as; a verb, noun, adjective, or adverb. The word crash can be all of those things. Pretty impressive for a five letter word, don’t you think?

Not only does it have wide grammatical usage, the word itself can be used differently to mean so many vastly different things.

There’s a crash of thunder in a big storm, a crash course in just about anything. Cars, planes, patients, they all have potential to crash. As do computers.

Needless to say, my computer crashed a little over a week ago, and with it went the ease of sitting down to type up a quick blog post. While I’ve learned you can accomplish just about anything from an iPhone, blogging from one starts to feel like one of those crazy-girl text messages we all have sent at least once. You know, the ones that involve a lot of scrolling on the part of the reader. The ones that go on and on and on. The ones you always regret almost immediately. If you were with me until the regret part, now is a good time to start. I’ve learned to cut down on those messages, so writing anything wordy using only my thumbs brings back awkward memories.

But hold tight, a solution is coming. According to Kateri will be up and running soon with my typical posts that take ten fingers to write. Until then, I am actually living unplugged for once, and even at a slightly slower pace.

So pour yourself a glass of wine with me, put your feet up, and relax.

Apparently iPhones can’t actually do everything.
