What I’ve Learned About Love

While I work on my next post to share with you all here, I wanted to show you something else I have been working on. Below is a link to an article I wrote for the Huffington Post, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson’s Love Matters campaign. Please check it out and let me know what you think! There are other amazing articles on the same page.

As always, more to come soon!

  1. I love your posts. I am nurse too (cardiac / adults). My youngest daughter was born early with congenital heart defects. We spent weeks, months actually, in the Cardiac PICU. Three different times in the first 2 years of her life. I remember the names of the nurses who took care of her – who literally saved her life when she went into septic shock at 16 days old. I remember crying and laughing with those ladies. My daughter is a healthy, sassy ballet dancing 10 year old now. She recently had her annual cardiology appointment and we were told she didn’t need to be seen for 2 years. I don’t send Christmas cards to the unit anymore, many of those amazing ladies aren’t there and the new ones wouldn’t know who the smiling kid in the photo is. But every year on our three surgical anniversaries, on my daughter’s birthdays and when she meets and exceeds some childhood milestone I remember them, I light a candle and say a prayer for them. They are part of my family and will be forever in my heart.
